More Money For Murray

Briggs & Stratton Corp. will invest $35.5 million for renovation of its Murray, Ken., engine plant. The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has preliminarily approved tax incentives up to $15 million over 10 years through the Kentucky Reinvestment Act.

The 290,040 sq. ft. facility includes die casting, machining, and assembly of engines and related components. Briggs & Stratton said it will use the money to make renovations, upgrade tooling, install new machinery and provide worker training. The facility employs more than 640 people.
