Morocco Power Plant To Receive GE Gas Turbines

GE will supply fuel-flexible gas turbine technology for the Kenitra Power Plant, which will help the Office National de l’Electricité (ONE) of Morocco meet the increasing demand for electricity to support the country’s economic and industrial growth.

GE and Cegelec SAS of France, have received a contract totaling more than $US262 million (€200 million) for the project, which will feature three GE Frame 9E gas turbines that can burn heavy fuel oil, with distillate as a backup.



Tognum Signs Letter Of Intent With Russian Government Group

Tognum signed a letter of intent with a Russian government working group for the future joint production and sales of high-speed, heavy-duty diesel engines for Russia. The engines would be used for several applications, such as rail, power generation, marine and industrial.

In the next few months, Tognum and the Russian working group will prepare a contract for the joint venture. The focus for the first phase of the union is establishing and operating a joint assembly plant in Russia and modifying the engines for rail applications.



Elgin Fastener Group Expands Sales Force With Harwood Associates

Elgin Fastener Group has expanded its sales force in Wisconsin, U.S.A., and northern Illinois, U.S.A., after reaching an agreement with Harwood Associates, based in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Harwood Associates, which started in 1950, has represented companies, such as American Rivet, National Rivet, Accurate Threaded Fastener and Elco Screw during its 60-year history. Harwood employs four sales associates and an office staff.



Alstom Signs Contract Extensions With Gas Natural Fenosa

Alstom has signed a contract extension with Gas Natural Fenosa for its combined cycle units in Sant Adrià del Besós (Barcelona) and San Roque (Cádiz) power plants in Spain.

The contract covers the provision of spare parts, maintenance services, inspection and operation support for Alstom’s two KA26 units. Alstom designed, built and commissioned Gas Natural Fenosa’s Besos and San Roque power plants in 2002, with two 400 MW units, and has been responsible for their operations and maintenance up until now.



Alstom Contracted For Two Indian Plants

Alstom has received an order from Indian private utility GVK Industries to build two units at the Jegurupadu III combined cycle power plant in East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh state, India. The contracts include engineering, procurement and construction with an additional long-term service agreement.

Each of the two units will comprise Alstom’s GT26 gas turbine, steam turbine, generator, heat recovery steam generator, associated civil works and balance of plant equipment.
